Uses of Measuring Instruments for Laboratories and Industry

Measuring instruments are important and essential at work both in laboratories and in industrial use. The database of measuring instruments includes hundreds of different and varied instruments. They are designed to provide a solution for professionals and companies such as technicians, engineers, maintenance personnel, laboratory personnel, safety personnel, companies, and entities that need measurement solutions in their field of activity, laboratory, research, maintenance, and monitoring.

When Do We Need Measuring Instruments

If you want to get accurate results, it is necessary to use professional measuring instruments. They were created to facilitate the measurement work in the field and in the laboratory. Each type of measurement has its own instruments.

    Manual vs Digital Instruments

Manual instruments (think rulers or analog gauges) are cheap and rugged but lack precision. Digital instruments, on the other hand, are more accurate, often integrate with software, and allow for real-time data logging — making them perfect for today’s data-driven environments.

The Method of operation of the Instruments

-Measurement: Using the instrument, the measurement is performed. Each instrument is suitable for a different type of measurement and aims to achieve an accurate result. It usually consists of the measurement sensor and the measurement display, some arrive separately and some arrive in one unit.

-Display: After the measurement comes the result. Here you can get the result in analog or digital form.

     MEASURING INSTRUMENTS

    Units of Measurement

A unit of measurement is a definite magnitude of a quantity, defined and adopted by convention or by law.

For each measuring instrument, the unit suitable for it: for Balances: grams, kilograms, Milligrams, for Caliber-mm, for Tachometer-rpm, for Noise-decibels, for Light-lux, etc.

    Common Types of Measuring Instruments

-Dataloggers: Its function is to enable the measurement and storage of data of almost every measured physical parameter: temperature, humidity, flow, pressure, force, displacement, velocity, meteorology, lighting, voltage and power.

-Boroscope: A boroscope is a flexible camera that can go into hidden places to detect such and such faults. Its uses are very common in the industry.

-PH Meter-A pH meter is an instrument used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. The measurement range is between 0-14, the lower the number so the acidity level will be better.

USES OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS FOR LABORATORIES AND INDUSTRY

-DISSOLVED OXYGEN METER-A dissolved oxygen meter measures the amount of oxygen in the water when it is in its dissolved form. Dissolved oxygen measurement is an essential test to verify the integrity of oxygen supply systems for biological activity in reactors and sewage facilities where bacteria and biomass are grown for water.

-Thermometers-Thermometer is found in almost every field in the industry. It is suitable for home, industrial and laboratory use. From a temperature test in a room to a temperature test of the human body. Thermometers make it possible to detect temperature changes quickly and thus faults can be detected. The main uses are : plumbing, electrical industry, human body, and more.

USES OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS FOR LABORATORIES AND INDUSTRY

    - Pressure Meters: A pressure meter is designed to measure water or gas pressure in pipes or in an airtight container.

-Conductivity meter measures the amount of electric current or conductivity in a solution.A conductivity meter measures the health status of the natural water body. It is very useful in the field of water.

-Water Potential-Measuring water potential in soils and plants. Pressure Chamber is an excellent choice for routine water measurements for crop plants and light research in plants with little to moderate water stress
